Conclusions: Mainz Pouch II is a simple and easy to mastered form of continent urinary diversion, with excellent continence rate and good quality of life. When the patient refused to have a incontinent urinary diversion, it may be used as a convenient and satisfactory alternative for cystectomized patients who are not suitable for orthotopic urinary diversion due to bladder cancer invasion of prostate or urethra.

Laparoscopic extended pelvic lymph node dissection during radical cystectomy: technique and clinical outcomes.
OBJECTIVE • To study the surgical techniques and clinical results of laparoscopic extended pelvic lymph node dissection during radical cystectomy. PATIENTS AND METHODS • From July 2007 to October 2009, 43 patients with bladder carcinoma received laparoscopic radical cystectomy with extended pelvic lymphadenectomy and urinary diversion. • Pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) was first performed...

OBJECTIVE To compare the clinical effectiveness of three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) laparoscopic imaging systems for radical cystectomy (RC) with pelvic lymph node dissection. METHODS This was a retrospective analysis of data collected from all patients who underwent RC with pelvic lymph node dissection between January 2013 and May 2014, performed by a single surgeon in our cli...

AIM The aim of the study was to compare the number of nodes dissected during laparoscopic and open radical cystoprostatectomy in men or anterior exenteration in women due to muscle invasive bladder urothelial cancer (IBC). MATERIAL AND METHODS Fifty-one patients treated with laparoscopic radical cystectomy (LRC) and 63 with open radical cystectomy (ORC) were compared. The LRC group consisted ...
متن کاملThe role of pelvic lymph node dissection during radical cystectomy for bladder cancer.
BACKGROUND Radical cystectomy is the standard treatment for patients with invasive bladder cancer. Many aspects regarding the role of concomitant pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND), its extension and the oncological impact are still under discussion. MATERIALS AND METHODS A detailed literature review is presented to assess the impact of pelvic lymph node dissection during radical cystectomy ...
متن کاملInitial Experiences with Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Radical Cystectomy
PURPOSE Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy (RLRC) is a new option for the treatment of muscle-invasive bladder cancer, and case series for RLRC have been increasing recently. We report our operative technique and initial experiences with RLRC with extracorporeal urinary diversion. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between October 2008 and November 2009, 17 consecutive patients with muscle-inv...
